When I first started working with Angie, I came to her because I was tired of feeling heavy and having low energy. My work and my life were keeping me so busy that I had no energy left to fight cravings and find healthy ways to channel stress. I needed someone else to hold me accountable for showing up and measuring goals, and I needed some manageable ways to make progress without having to give up all of my favorite foods or workout every single day.
I've worked with different trainers in the past, and I've tried every "get slim quick" program in the book - from juice cleanses to infomercial videos. Working with Angie is way different, she is really invested in you as a person and in you reaching your goals. I always feel stronger after working out with her. She pushes me hard, but not so hard that I feel like I can't do it or feel sore and miserable the next day. She also helps me track my nutrition and provides frequent and helpful suggestions to eat right.
After working out with her for just a few months, I lost four combined inches and could tell a huge difference in my strength and muscle tone. I've never had a transformation like that, and it feels great. It has encouraged me to keep going and see how far I can go!
After years of abusing my body (by what I ate, drank and inactivity), I knew something had to change. My wife would beg & plead with me to get up and get active. In January I committed to a 6 month membership. Now 3 months in, I am half way to my "goal weight". With the continued guidance and encouragement, from the Uplift staff, I know I will crush my goals.
Thank you. Kent CollinsDay 1, I was huffing and puffing, gasping for air after my warm-up, dreading every single minute of it… 8 weeks into this, after “7.1 lbs of fat loss and 5.7lbs of muscle gain”, ironically enough, I look forward to my work-out days (twice a week). But realistically, no matter how long I do this, I think I will have a hateful relationship with a few things: Sledge and I will never get along… Crunches still hurt… But for a change push-ups and I are seem to be doing fine. By the end of my workout with no energy left (Angie will make sure of that), I always question myself “Why am I still paying to go through this PAIN?” and then I wake up the next morning all fired up and feeling good because of a good workout. The vicious cycle continues… I could go on-and-on about how much Angie put it’s in to making sure that every minute counts and you continue to stay on top of everything even on your days off, but I’ll let you figure that one out for your own.
Rahul GosainI've always been really athletic playing soccer and doing all kinds of sports but around sophomore year I started realizing the fact that eating healthy and exercising made a huge impact on the way I felt and the energy I had on a daily basis. It makes me energized during the day, a happier person, able to focus better, and helps me to stay motivated! On days I don't exercise and eat healthy I definitely notice my mood change and my body feel groggy. My motivation is definitely the way eating healthy and working out makes me feel and also seeing the changes in my body that Angie has been helping me with. I have always been a "cardio bunny" and never saw the results I wanted. So, working with Angie I really wanted to maximize my workout sessions and truly understand exactly how I should be working out in order for me to achieve the body and muscle definition I want. I love all leg exercises but my favorite is an RDL!! My advice to others would be to not be afraid of trying something new if the old isn't working!!!
Taylor Yates“The beginning is hard. You have to make changes and they will be forced, but after time, those changes turn into habits and suddenly, you won’t want to go back to how you used to be,” Tess concluded. “Don’t get down on yourself because it is hard or because it takes too long. Look ahead to who you’ll be when you’ve reach the end of the journey.”
